Partner

Mark Mickiewicz is a Senior Associate in the firm’s litigation department. He currently focuses his practice on the defense of claims involving automobile accidents, construction site injuries, injuries occurring on commercial premises, construction defects, contract disputes, civil rights violations, and commercial transactions.
Representative Experience:
Mark recently defended a local business that owns and operates a storage facility from allegations involving the theft of a customer’s property, obtaining a verdict of not guilty following trial.
He obtained an award of not guilty following the arbitration of a construction dispute alleging extensive water damage to real property.
He has resolved numerous large claims arising out of construction accidents for nominal amounts following extensive discovery resulting in the presentation of evidence sufficient to support summary judgment, including the resolution of a claim for injuries resulting from a fall at a construction site for 1.5% of the Plaintiff’s nearly eight-figure demand on behalf of the property owner and developer.
Mark has successfully defended and settled class action lawsuits alleging violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
For a fraction of the claimed damages, he resolved a complicated case involving allegations of negligence and breach of contract against an alarm company arising out of a professional jewelry heist perpetrated by one of the largest international crime organizations in the world following the dismissal, with prejudice, of almost every claim originally brought by the plaintiff.
Mark also obtained judgments on behalf of a local municipality in two cases involving allegations of civil rights violations.
While working at the Office of the Illinois Appellate Defender, Mark filed and argued numerous appeals and collateral petitions in the Appellate Court for the First District of Illinois and the Illinois Supreme Court.
