Mike Sanders, Tom Underwood, and R.J. VanSwol obtained an appellate victory on behalf of an attorney named in an untimely legal malpractice action. The plaintiffs alleged that the attorney had represented them in a purchase of real estate in 2006, but the plaintiffs did not file suit until 2013. The trial court granted P&W's motion to dismiss the case on the basis that the plaintiff filed suit outside of the two-year statute of limitations and six-year statute of repose for suits arising from attorneys' professional services. The Appellate Court affirmed, Rodriguez v. Nolan, 2015 IL App (1st) 141622-U, holding that the plaintiffs' complaint was time-barred.
