Federal Court Dismisses Fourteenth Amendment Claim

Emily Schnidt obtained the dismissal in federal court of a Fourteenth Amendment claim against a municipality. On P&W's motion, the court held that the Illinois Uniform Peace Officers' Disciplinary Act, 50 ILCS 725/1 et seq., did not give rise to a guaranteed right of due process for a police officer prior to discipline or termination.
