Emily Schnidt obtained the dismissal with prejudice of claims against several police officers for allegedly failing to investigate a death. Following oral argument, the Cook County court agreed that the Illinois Governmental Tort Immunity Act shields officers from liability for failing to arrest or investigate a crime.
