Brad Purcell won summary judgment for a county and its sheriff in a suit alleging that the plaintiff had sustained injuries while repairing an elevator in a county jail. The plaintiff alleged that the county and sheriff had not maintained the jail in a reasonably safe condition, properly supervised his work, or equipped him for his work. P&W successfully argued that the county and the sheriff were immune to claims based on their alleged failure to supervise the plaintiff's work or to equip him for his work, and that they had no duty to maintain the elevators in such a state that the elevators would not require repair.
